National Security Minister says there is need for tremendous education among the male population in Dominica
The introduction of a bill for an act to amend the Sexual Offences Act here has led to much debate among the populace, particularly a section which allows for husbands to be legally charged for marital rape.
While many are in favour with the proposed amendments, there are some, including religious leaders, who believe further consultation especially where this particular area is concerned was needed.
National Security Minister, Rayburn Blackmoore, while wrapping up the debate on this bill, said there is need for tremendous education among the male population in Dominica.
"The notion that because a woman has said to marriage I do, that she have been reduced to a property it is wrong and it must be condemned..." said Blackmoore.
