The Salisbury Diabetes Association has launched its ‘Fighting Diabetes in the 21st Century’ campaign.
Forty individuals graduated and received their certificates of completion from the budding programme on March 31st. This program is geared at providing emotional and self management support for people living with diabetes and high blood pressure. President of the Dominica Diabetes Association, Marvlyn Birmingham, says this initiative follows an agreement of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) and the Dominica Diabetes Association for the purpose of implementing a blood pressure control through Community action project. Birmingham believes the graduates or "budding champions" will be an asset to the Dominica Diabetes Association.
