Opposition Leader Lennox challenges House Speaker Alix Boyd- Knights to try to be fair and objective
While Speaker of the House Alix Boyd-Knights has described some members of parliament of having a chronic disability to comprehend, Opposition Leader, Lennox Linton, accuses the Speaker of having learnt the least about parliamentary conduct and procedure.
Addressing the Seventh Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament on Monday, Mrs Boyd-Knights said many parliamentarians do not take the time to learn the Standing Orders of the House.
She stated further that one of the hindrances of learning is arrogance.
In response, Opposition Leader Lennox Linton said the Speaker, over the years, has not learnt to be fair and objective.
