Opposition leader Lennox Linton says it time for the current DLP Administration to leave office.
This statement follows reports of the arrest and extradition of Alireza Zibahalat Monfared to Iran, on allegations of his involvement in one of the largest corruption scandals of any Middle Eastern country. Monfared is also allegedly a Dominican Diplomatic Passport holder, whose passport was allegedly revoked in 2016, according to DLP Attorney Anthony Astaphan, in a story that appeared in local online newspaper, DNO.
Linton says all those who stood in Monfared’s defence when his credibility came into question, should offer their resignations immediately. He is of the view that the country has had enough and it is time for the DLP Administration to step down.
