With a number of names, including those of high ranking officials here being mentioned in connection with the Panama Papers, opposition Leader, Lennox Linton, wants Dominicans to demand answers.
He is of the firm view that Dominica's tax dollars and monies from passport sales has been placed in the hand of crooked politicians and criminals to hide these monies through this "rogue industry".
Linton, who has in the past complained of Dominica's passport revenue not being properly accounted for, says these files list the names of a passport companies from the Layou River Economic Citizenship program.
The Panama Papers is the largest ever release of secret offshore companies and the people behind them. The 11-million documents were leaked from a Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca. They show how the company has helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and evade tax and show the countless ways in which the rich can exploit secretive offshore tax regimes.
