Opposition says the United Workers Party will not appoint anyone to an unacceptably amended IPO commission
Opposition leader Lennox Linton says the United Workers Party will not appoint anyone to the amended IPO commission, the reason being that the UWP believes upcoming amendments to be made to the existing legislation by the DLP controlled parliament are unacceptable.
According to the United Workers Party, the proposed amendments to the Integrity in Public Office Act contradicts the purpose of its existence in the first place.
UWP Leader Lennox Linton is therefore calling on the DLP government, to allow the parliament to review and amend the legislation in the best interest of preserving the integrity, transparency and accountability of public officials.
