Over 20 CHS students say goodbye to their Alma Mater as they make preparations to write the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) exams. CHS students gathered at the Roseau Cathedral which is currently being accommodated at the St. Gerard’s Hall on Friday May 4, 2018, in a special assembly for the senior students.
Head Girl of the Convent High School, Allyna Bernard told the assembly, “It is often said that the end of one journey signals the beginning of another greater one. Today, we end our high school career and look forward with great anticipation to our fast-approaching future. We must keep in mind however, that journeys are rarely solo endeavors, and those who have aided us, are forever worthy of our gratitude.” Bernard said having officially completed their high school journey, now it is “time to get through CXC, and look toward the future – graduation. Thank you for being the strong females that you are, she who endures, conquers”. Bernard paraphrased a quote from former US President John F Kennedy, and reminded the students to trust in God, give back to those who have helped them “and our futures will undoubtedly be awesome”. Meanwhile Principal of the Convent High School, Isabella Prentice encouraged the class to perform to the best of their ability. Prentice said “The challenge is before them; just go – they can do it. They’ve shown they have what it takes, it’s just now to prove to themselves that they really can do it and they will be successful”.
