A regional advisor for chronic diseases says she has noticed the lack of acceptance among persons living with chronic diseases in Dominica.
Dominica has been hosting a 2-day regional conference geared at implementing strategies on prevention and management of non-communicable diseases throughout the Caribbean region.
Advisor for Chronic Diseases at the Pan American Health Organization - PAHO for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is Tomo Kanda.
Kanda says the self-management program currently underway in Dominica came as a result of premature deaths in the Caribbean region due to non-communicable diseases.
