Outspoken Pastor Randy Rodney has commended those who have supported Opposition Leader Lennox Linton, in raising the necessary funds to meet his legal expenses.
In a drive to collect $80,000 for Linton to pay Chartered Accountant Kieron Pinard-Byrne for defamation this week, over $100,000 was raised by Dominicans both here and abroad, within just about two days.
This matter which has been going on for some fourteen years, is centred around comments made by then journalist Lennox Linton about matters pertaining to the Layou River Economic citizenship program, and the Layou River Hotel project, for which Pinard-Byrne said he was libelled.
Rodney, speaking on his weekly ‘Kingdom Connections’ program Friday, said this support to Linton indicates that persons have now decided that people should speak, and somebody should answer, when things go wrong.
Meanwhile he says this incident should also be a lesson to persons, that they must not defame anyone, without proper merit.
