Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture says Government will not let the banana industry fall
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Harold Guiste, says Government will not let the banana industry fall. He says Government is continuing to expend a tremendous amount of financial resources in the banana sub-sector.
Highlighting bananas as an important crop in Dominica, he says the crop brings a lot to the economy, and to the social livelihood of the Dominican public.
Guiste made these remarks despite heavy criticism from opposition forces and from farmers in Dominica, as regards the failing state of that sector, and the Government's inability to revitalise it.
