Attorneys representing chartered accountant, Kieron Pinard-Byrne, have demanded that Opposition Leader, Lennox Linton, pay a Privy Council order of £20, 000 in court costs stemming from a defamation case no later than February 22.
A letter dated February 3, 2016 once again threatened enforcement proceedings against Linton and/or property he may own, or have any interest in, should he fail to comply. Linton says if he is declared bankrupt by the courts, he will not be able to sit in Dominica’s Parliament, simply because he stated that Kieron Pinard-Byrne benefitted from the failed Layou River Hotel project, and from the sale of Dominica’s passports.
