Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit admits that revenues generated locally, are insufficient to take care of the basic needs of the country.
He explained that for this reason, the country depends heavily on grants and other forms of support from other countries, in order to minimize the burden of heavy taxation on Dominican citizens. He says contributions from friendly governments offer an easier way to cover expenditures that have to be made, to meet the country’s needs.
