He says there must be a balance between academic excellence and healthy lifestyles. Mr Skerrit is of the view that without this balance, the island could face a serious health crisis. Recently, Health Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux expressed concern over the issue of increased childhood obesity in Dominica. He said while Diabetes is one of the largest global health emergencies of the twenty-first century, obesity among children, and also adults in Dominica, is increasing at an alarming rate. Mr Skerrit says government must go back to the drawing board as it relates to physical education at schools.
