Political Scientist Alex Bruno says the society in Dominica has become too unbalanced and partisan, resulting in individuals showing a lack of respect for others, and honest free speech is seen as anti-status quo
Political Scientist Alex Bruno says the society has not been balanced for a while. He contends the Dominican society has become too partisan, in the things being done, resulting in individuals showing a lack of respect for others. Bruno was engaged in a conversation with Matt Peltier, host of Q95’s ‘Host Seat’ program on Q95 FM Radio.
Alex Bruno agrees individuals are seen as partisan when they speak up against the status quo. He is of the view those who try to speak justice and honestly are sometimes castigated.
Bruno believes individuals with power, money and authority are the ones who have influence over those who tend to speak up.
The pollster says the only shift visible to him is a shift from the political culture of the country from one where Dominicans fended for themselves, had the means to create their own livelihood to one of complete and utter dependency.
Bruno believes to achieve a more progressive shift; individuals have to work at it.
