Portsmouth MP Ian Douglas is describing as interesting, a statement by the Opposition Leader, that a new voting system should be put in place for eligible Dominicans resident overseas. During a special town hall meeting held in Mahaut on Thursday 3rd March 2016, Opposition leader Lennox Linton proposed that citizens who are resident overseas should be allowed to vote online, from wherever they are, without anyone having to pay to transport them to Dominica to vote. Linton emphasized that the UWP is not against any Dominicans living overseas casting their vote once they are eligible to vote in elections in Dominica. But Douglas says just last year, the Opposition had a different spin on the matter. MP for Portsmouth Ian Douglas
