Primary and Secondary school students across the island have been trained on costume building. The hope is that the students will be able to build their costumes or float for the Carnival Monday street parade.
The workshop was held at the Windsor Park stadium Tuesday and was spearheaded by the Dominica Festivals Committee in collaboration with the National Bank of Dominica and costume builders Mas camp. Marketing Manager at NBD Susan Piper says the bank is proud to support Dominica’s Carnival.

Meantime, head of the Costume Builders Mas Camp Donley Guye says the organization was pleased to come on board as they want to see the tradition of costume building continue.

Meanwhile, Quality Assurance officer at the Discover Dominica Authority Samantha Letang urged the sponsors to come on board in helping to sustain the country’s Carnival traditions.
