Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has appealed to Dominicans to use this weekend to memorialize those who were lost in the ravages of tropical storm Erika.
One year after the deadliest natural disaster since Hurricane David in 1979, the Government of Dominica has declared Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28, 2016 as National Days of Prayer and Thanksgiving, to mark the first anniversary of the passing of Tropical Storm Erika.
In his address to the nation, one day before the anniversary of the tragic night of August 27th, 2015, the Prime Minister stated that the nation is once again challenged with the responsibility of building-back-better.
He went on to ask all churches in Dominica to include a special prayer for the victims of Tropical Storm Erika, in their services this weekend.
