Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that the Integrity of Public Office (IPO) Commission has commenced in its operations, with the nominees solely appointed by the DLP Administration.
Despite the Oppositions decision not to appoint a nominee to serve on the revamped Commission, due to the recent amendments made by the government to the IPO Act, as well as the reduction in the number of its members. The staffing reduction was meant to accommodate three individuals, two nominees from the government and one from the opposition. However, due to what many call an unfair advantage; only two persons will serve on the Integrity of Public Office Commission, particularly the government’s nominees.
