Mayor of Roseau, Irene John, says vagrancy continues to be a major issue for the Roseau City Council, however, she says the new council will work actively to address this problem in the new term.
John was speaking at the 12th Inaugural meeting of the Roseau City Council on Wednesday at the Arawak House of Culture.
She said this is a social problem which requires humane but effective solutions.
Meanwhile she says during the past term they found it difficult to increase their yield for more revenue due to discrepancies in their properties register. John says she appeals to property owners who have not done so, to come forward and make good their delinquent accounts.
