Registered Nurse Priscilla Prevost is of the view that while focus is placed on fast growing vegetables, fruit trees such as papaya should also be grown. She says investing in both types of trees contributes to the servings of fruits and vegetables needed to protect against diseases.
Reflecting on foods that were grown in the past, Prevost insisted that we need to think about foods which aid in preventing both communicable and non-communicable diseases, when discussing food security.
