Resilient livelihoods and food security through data, digitalization and sectoral linkages set for technical consultation for the Joint Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDG Fund)
The technical consultation for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Fund Joint Programme “Resilient livelihoods and food security through data, digitalization and sectoral linkages”, is Scheduled for Monday, November 28, 2022. During the consultation, the stakeholders will discuss ways to build the resilience of farmers, fishers, vulnerable people, system and institutional capacity improvement of the agriculture and social protection sectors in a risk informed manner and their linkages;also alignment with government’s ongoing and/or planned projects/initiatives.
The two (2) year Joint Programme (JP) aims to contribute to resilient livelihoods and food security through data, digitalization and sectoral linkages, as well as draw on the power of data, information systems and sectoral linkages to mitigate the impacts of climate change, promote and protect food security, and strengthen resilience in a gender-responsive manner.
The JP Technical Consultation will be led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and officials from the Government of Dominica: Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security, Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, Youth at Risk, Gender Affairs, Seniors Security and Dominicans with Disabilities, National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), Information Technology Services, Ministry of Public Works, Dominica Meteorological Services, Physical Planning Unit (PPU), Meteorological Services Office, Inter-American Institute for Cooperation (IICA), Caribbean Agricultural Research & Development Institute (CARDI).
