UWP Leader, Lennox Linton, is expressing concern over the timing of a new project being brought on stream by the DLP Government. Today, the Government will hold the ground-breaking ceremony for the $18m Roseau West bridge project to be undertaken by Barbadian company NSG Management and Technical Services Ltd. Addressing party supporters Thursday night, Linton said there are more critical issues to be dealt with following TS Erika. He states further that the manner in which this contracted was awarded to the Barbadian firm is illegal. He says while he is not against foreigners working in Dominica, this project could have been undertaken by locals. The Opposition Leader says he is further concerned over the possibility of kickbacks which is one of the dangers of contracts being awarded without legal tender.
