Salisbury MP Hector John wants Government to maintain road safety as weather systems take their toll
Salisbury MP Hector John has called for Government to keep maintaining the roads on island, for purposes of safety of motorists and pedestrians, especially as weather systems continue to affect the island.
Just last week, a trough system drenched the island causing flooding in the Macoucherie area, resulting in concerns that the Bailey bridge in that area might be unsafe for use by motorists.
John lamented the lack of safety for motorists on the bridge, and calls for the acceleration of the repairs to the bridge, until a new permanent bridge can be erected in its place.
Recently, the Government of Dominica signed a contract with the Chinese Government, for the post Erika west coast road repairs, including damaged bridges along the west coast.
