UWP Senator Isaac Baptiste questions why the DLP government did not find it possible to tender three independent contracts to Dominican firms, and allow them to work together on the Roseau West Bridge.
He suggested the imperative for building capacity, in order to allow local construction firms to compete regionally. Baptiste believes that the capacity to tender for jobs in Dominica exists, however, it just needs to be strengthened by the government. He alleges that the DLP government is refusing to do so, in order to allegedly ensure that their preferred firms get the jobs.
