Sen Isaac Baptiste says new Public Works Minister has no background to handle $1.3 Billion in post Erika reconstruction
Following the recent resignation of Ian Pinard as Public Works and Ports Minister, Sen. Isaac Baptiste has expressed his concern over the appointment of the new minister of public works & ports.
Referring to the Government’s reported destruction of $1.3 billion after the passage of Tropical storm Erika on 27th August 2015, Baptiste says over 80% of that value falls under the umbrella of the Ministry of Public Works & Ports.
Sen. Baptiste says by appointing an individual with no background in the work of such a ministry, this is an indicator that the Prime Minister does not take the country seriously.
