UWP Senator, Dr. Thompson Fontaine, is optimistic that the United Workers Party will assume the reins of leadership in Dominica, in the not too distant future. Dr. Fontaine, was speaking following a recent trip to the U.S by UWP leaders, which was geared at engaging the Diaspora on the issues of child abuse and electoral reform in Dominica. Fontaine says there is no doubt in his mind that the Dominica Labour Party Government has been on a steady decline over the past years. There is a lot of "Skerrit fatigue" in Dominica, says Dr. Fontaine. Dr. Fontaine stated further that the electorate are beginning to feel the brunt of the Dominican economy which he says has declined significantly under the current DLP Administration.
