Six new Peace Corps volunteers to Dominica have been asked to keep an open mind during their 2-year tenure on the island. That’s the advice coming from Education Minister Petter St Jean. He says no two countries are alike, and as such Dominica’s culture is vastly different from the United States.

The volunteers were sworn into service in Dominica last week. The Peace Corps program in Dominica is part of a sub-regional Peace Corps program for the Eastern Caribbean headquarters in St Lucia. Currently there are over 55 Peace Corps volunteers assigned to serve in the East Caribbean.
