Social Services Minister Catherine Daniel has lambasted persons who she says are burning the resources of the state.
Daniel was speaking in relations to persons who are in a position to do so, are not caring for their elderly family members, and instead they leave it up to the state to do so.
She says what is truly hurtful is that these same persons come around during election time, hoping to claim benefits off the persons under the government's ‘Yes We Care’ program.
Highlighted in the 2016/2017 national budget, $1million has been allocated to the continuation of the ‘Yes We Care’ program, which Daniel says is proof of government's commitment to the success of the program.
