The Dominica Cancer Society’s Annual ‘Walk for Cancer Care” took place on Saturday, October 1, 2016, under the theme, “I Can! We Can”. It challenged every individual, group, organization and sector, to get involved in cancer awareness, prevention and treatment. This event formed part of the Ministry of Health’s Wellness Month activities.
A number of civil society and private sector groups registered for this year’s walk, including JCI, Lions Dominica, Ross School of Medicine Oncology Club, Isaiah Thomas Secondary School, Dominica Grammar School, Dominica Air & Sea Port Authority, Harris Paints, Afrikulture Stilt Walkers, and Auto Trade. A visually challenged young woman completed the segment from Massacre to Roseau.
