The Ministry Agriculture tells exporters, organizations and institutions involved in fresh produce exports, that the Longhouse Port in Portsmouth is now subject to daily inspections between 9am & 6:30pm
The Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security, Plant Protection and Quarantine Unit informs all exporters, organizations, and institutions involved in the export of fresh produce through the port, thatthe Longhouse Port in Portsmouth is now subject to daily inspections between the hours of 9.00 am. and 6.30 pm.
The increase in non-compliance reports the Unit is receiving about fresh produce exported from Dominica to regional jurisdictions led to the need to change the inspection hours.
This is in order to ensure that produce is examined more carefully before being approved for export. The public and all exporters are asked to cooperate with the new inspection hours. In order to ensure that produce is examined more carefully before being approved for export, the Plant Protection and Quarantine Service has adopted a proactive approach and will now conduct inspections during these times.
