UWI Principal says the Caribbean must buffet stormy issues of volatile environment & fragile economies
In her address at the ninth annual NBD/UWI National Distinguished Lecture, Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Open Campus Dr. Luz Longsworth states that the Caribbean is not unlike a teacup in a storm. She says the volatility of the natural environment, fragility of economic structure among others are all storms which the Caribbean must buffet.
Longsworth went on to say that disruptive change is irreversible and leads to certain death of organizations that are unable to innovate. she stressed the importance that all must be aware of these disruptions as the Caribbean is very vulnerable to such changes.
