Investigative Journalist Carlisle Jno Baptiste reports on an ongoing issue involving fees owed to UWI by the Government of Dominica. Student fees have allegedly not been paid to the UWI, leaving the students unable to access their grades and possibly preventing their graduation.
He quoted several students who appeared to be in distress after contacting the Education Minister, who allegedly stated that he was unaware of the problem. The university has reportedly already granted many grace periods, however the deadline date for payment is February 29, 2016. Jno Baptiste says he had spoken to the Education Minister on behalf of some students, and expressed concern that all of the students are affected by the non-payment of the students’ fees.
