UWP contends that Dominica is not ready to deal with the Covid-19 Virus pandemic effectively, despite reports made by some Dominican Officials that the country is ready
Following the trends of Caribbean and international governments, in the wake of the Covid-19 Virus, which is now a pandemic as of 11th February 2020, many of them have held parliamentary sessions to create a budget specifically to deal with the Coronavirus Pandemic, in their respective countries.
In Dominica, reports confirm that Parliament has not met on this national health issue and this is a frightening reality to many Dominicans, even to supporters of the Dominica Labour Party, who are now questioning whether the Skerrit administration cares about the wellbeing of Dominicans, based on the way the administration has dealt with this major threat, which is bringing the leaders of first world countries to their knees.
Dominica currently has all of its ports of entry open when the majority of other Caribbean leaders are closing theirs.Meanwhile, there are nowtwo confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Dominica, one was revealed on 22nd March 2020, and another one revealed on 23rd March.
Speaking to Q95 FM Radio recently, UWP Leader and Marigot MP Lennox Linton revealed that the facts point to one thing in Dominica, that it is not ready to properly deal with the Covid-19 Virus, because its leadership spent too much time talking and boasting rather than investing and implementing effective and greater measures of precaution.
