Leader of the United Workers Party Lennox Linton, is urging government to make the necessary investment in construction of a New National Hospital in Marigot.
Linton stresses that the $300,000 allocated for a Hospital in Marigot, as contained in the 2016/2017 national budget, only supports the designing of the facility, and this does not impress the residents of the Marigot and the north-east,have been asking for a new health facility since the closure of the existing one in 2014.
The opposition leader believes that the government has monies that it acquired through sales proceeds from the Citizenship By Investment Program, which it did not place into the consolidated fund, allegedly being an amount of $143 million dollars. Linton contends that some of those funds can be used for construction of a new hospital at Marigot.
