The Waterfront & Allied Workers Union is giving two thumbs up to government’s decision to push for National Health Insurance for Dominica. Prime Minister Skerrit announced recently that government is in consultation with the Pan American Health Organization on a National Health Insurance Scheme for the Island.
Mr Skerrit is also the Minister for Finance. He said there is need for a national health insurance scheme, as the cost of medical care is prohibitive to many citizens. WAWU General Secretary Kertiste Augustus calls the move a step in the right direction.
