Weather outlook for Dominica & the Lesser Antilles shows approaching tropical wave potential impacts
According to Dominica’s Meteorological Office, the Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles at 6 am today Friday September 15, 2017, shows increased cloudiness, scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms can be expected later today, as a result of an approaching tropical wave.
Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution. A westward moving tropical wave located over the Central Tropical Atlantic has a high chance of development. This system is expected to approach the area by Monday, and residents are advised to closely monitor its progress.
Meanwhile, tropical depression fourteen (14) formed in the far eastern Atlantic last night, and is now about 2300 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Slight to moderate seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with waves peaking near 5 feet.
