Well known Activist and black history advocate encourages inclusion of black history in schools’ curriculum
Well known Activist and advocate for black history, Franklyn Georges, is encouraging Education authorities to introduce teaching of black history in Dominican schools. Mr. Georges believes that we, as a people, should embrace our heritage and teach traditional history.
“It’s time that we start teaching our history in our schools. I’m not saying don’t teach the others, but it’s time to teach ours, and let the world know that we know our history,” he said at the launch of Black History Month, organized by the Dominica Library & Information Service (DLIS) Monday. It is the public’s responsibility to educate and empower the youth, and help them to develop a sense of dignity & self-awareness
