WICE/Q95FM Radio CEO & Prominent Businessman Sheridan Gregoire aka Mr. G, rubbishes statements by a small interest group that Q95fm Radio is one-sided in its programming.
Mr. G responded to Former Broadcaster & Press Secretary Steinberg Henry who stated via telephone interview on another radio station, “ ..I say this unapologetically, Q95 has moved across to become this institution that supports the opposition. It has departed from the terms of its licensee.”
Henry appeared to be calling on the powers that be, to halt Q95’s“.. overt critic of the government.” He said this out of concern for the public wealthfare
In his response, Mr. Gregoire dismissed these claims as nonsensical and stated that Q95 does not involve itself in harming anyone but rather ensures that democracy is preserved, by allowing all voices and ideas to contend, inclusive of that of officials of the ruling Dominica Labour Party and the DLP Government, which have been invited on multiple occasions to Q95 to speak to the general public, and in fact to purchase equal air time on ‘Q’ like every other political party in Dominica.
He then listed the daily Q95 programs and their contents which paints a vivid picture of its inclusiveness, and sharp contrast of its programming with that of the other Radio Stations on Island, to demonstrate the absolute nonsense of the claim that Q95 is an opposition party radio station, or supports the Opposition Parties.
Mr. Gregoire stated that Q95 has always embraced all ideas, and an open-air space to all to express their views, and questions the motive of the statement,in view of the fact that it is anti-democratic to muzzle the free press and the people’s ‘freedom of speech’ as provided by Dominica’s constitution.
