Works have recommenced on the development of the Lindo Park playing field in Goodwill. That's according to member of the Lindo Park Development Committee, Nigel Hilaire, who says work resumed on Monday of last week.
Last year, upgrades including excavation for fencing, lighting and a jogging track commenced, with funds that the committee obtained through the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions.
The project was however halted by the Land & Surveys Division of the government of Dominica, on the grounds that there was no request for permission from the proper authorities, to undertake the project on state owned property.
Hilaire says a new committee was formed and the project was handed over to them.
He says they almost lost the funds for the project.
Hilaire says the previous proposal has been improved, and the aim is to have this project completed by October of this year.
