6th ANNUAL QTS (DOMINICA) 2016 COMPETITION

QTS 2016 Productions & Promotions; Selection of 1 Winner & 2 Runner-Ups from 14 Finalists Q95fm Radio is gearing to commence the production of the 6th Annual QTS Competition 2016, from 1st March 2016, with the traditional ‘Live’ On-Air Call-&-Sing daily shows. Eliminations will take place continuously on-air, between 1st March 2016 and 31st May 2106. Sixty (60) competitors who make it through the first round of on-air eliminations will continue participating in the second round of further on-air eliminations from 1st June 2016 up to 30th June 2016, whereby that number will be reduced to thirty six (36) via another elimination process, which includes judging criteria by a panel of judges, votes by texts, voting by calls from listeners, and online voting by browsers on the Q95 website. Those thirty six (36) competitors will participate in Live-To-Air closed Auditions on Monday 30th May 2016 from 4:00 pm, at a venue to be announced. The Top Twenty five (25) of the thirty six (36) competitors who auditioned, will be selected to participate in the QTS 2016 Semi-Final Competition On-Stage, on Saturday 2nd July 2016 at 8:00 pm, at the Arawak House of Culture, or possibly at some other venue to be announced later. The Top Twelve (12) Competitors selected from the Semi-Final Competition, will be participate in the 6thAnnual 2016 QTS Final Competition. Three (3) Reservists will also be selected to be on stand-by just in case any of the twelve (12) finalists were to become unable or unwilling to participate in the QTS 2016 Final Competition on Saturday 6th August 2016, for whatever reason, including failure to sign the Terms & Conditions / Agreement, for participating in the Final Competition, on or before the due date for signing that document. A panel of judges will select one (1) Winner & two (2) Runner-Ups from the 6th Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) 2016 Final Competition, on Saturday 22nd October 2016, based on set criteria. The Winner of the 6th Annual QTS Competition will represent Dominica, in the 1st Annual QTS Caribbean Competition, scheduled to take place in Dominica on Saturday 22nd October 2016. This event will likely be rotated among partner islands after 2016. Productions, Promotions and Presentations Each of fourteen (14) Islands will organize a National QTS show or shows, preferably in partnership with live Radio and Television coverage, in order to select a winner, who will represent that Island in the 1st Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) Caribbean Competition, on Saturday 22nd October 2016. The thirteen participants from the other thirteen (13) Islands will arrive in Dominica on Sunday 16th October 2016, to join the Dominica 2016 QTS winner, for rehearsals and other necessary preparation for the 2016 QTS Caribbean show on Saturday 22nd October 2016. All of the 14 QTS Island Winners will take part in a schedule of rehearsals, local promotional activities and events on Q95fm Radio, and on other audio, television in Dominica, and via online media, on October 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. QTS 2016 Show Productions, Promotions, Presentations; And Selection of 1 winner and 2 runner-ups from 14 Finalists Q95fm Radio is in the course of securing Fourteen (14) Islands in the region, to participate in the 1st Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) Caribbean Competition, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 22nd October 2016. This event will likely be rotated among partner islands after 2016. Productions, Promotions and Presentations Each Island organizes a National QTS show or shows, preferably in partnership with live Radio and Television coverage, in order to select a winner, who will represent that Island in the 1st Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) Caribbean Competition. Each national winner submits two (2) completely produced original songs, which will be aired on the local partner radio and/or station involved, in select shows, between 1st July and 30th September 2016. These select live Radio and Television shows will include Live-to-Air interviews with participants, who would use this airtime for promotion of their songs, performing their songs ‘live-to-air’, Accapella; as well as for promoting their upcoming National QTS Competitions, which are to be held on select non-competing dates, between between 1st July & 30th September 2016, by which date, every participating island must have already selected a QTS winner. Local & regional audiences will participate and interact, via live-to-the on-air shows, to vote for their favorites via social networks, text messaging and phone-calls. Local organizing partner Radio & TV Stations in each participating country, would secure sponsors for their daily 10 to 30 minute on-air QTS shows, and for national QTS competitions. Organizers would establish a system for eliminations (on-air or otherwise) to select the 14 finalists, who will compete in their on-stage National Q Talent Search (QTS) 2016 competitions. The winner in each island will represent their country at the 1st Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) Caribbean 2016 competition in Dominica, on Saturday 22nd October 2016. In subsequent years, the host country for the Annual Q Talent Search (QTS) Caribbean Competitions will be rotated, among participating countries, possibly via a system of dipping or otherwise. Listeners would get involved with the daily QTS Radio/Television shows via regular and/or special telephone Call-Ins, Text Messaging, and by Voting via facilities provided by On-Line Media websites, and social networks, from Tuesday March 1, 2016, up to 22nd October 2016, as applicable, in order to select On-Line Media ‘Peoples’ Choice Awardees for each of the 14 country’s national 2016 QTS shows, and also for the 2016 QTS Caribbean Competition. Listener’s votes, calls and texts, would make up 15 % of the points system in the judging criteria, in selecting the final 14, as well as the winner and the two (2) runner-ups for the competitions in each Island. The Headline Telecommunications Sponsor would be asked to share the proceeds of the calls and the text messages etc in some way, with the 2016 national and regional QTS organizations. Within the period from 2nd July to 30th September 2016, organizers in the 14 participating countries will assist each of their winners, and ensure an electronic copy of their two (2) winning songs, plus an electronic copy of one other song of their choice, along with an electronic copy of a 5-minute promotional video (including 2 minutes of sponsors & country destination promotional content), is delivered to each participating country national organizer, and also to the Caribbean Show Organizer (Radio/TV Station or other), for airing via available local media, and also during the national organizer’s QTS production and promotional shows, at whatever local time is determined / designated. These promotions continue until 22nd October 2016. Each country winner will be scheduled to call-In to the Caribbean organizer (Radio/TV partner) during the 4 weeks period between 15th September 2016 and 15th October 2016, to promote themselves, their songs, the 2016 QTS Caribbean Show, as well as their sponsors & their countries. Sponsors & Advertisers will be secured by the local organizing partner/Radio/TV stations’ for QTS shows, in each of their islands, to assist their participation in the competition. Link-Ups & Simulcasts (if possible) with local Island Radio & Television partners involved with QTS Caribbean, during each of the Islands national shows, will ensure Caribbean wide listenership for the 1st QTS Caribbean 2016, (to be held on Saturday 22nd October 2016), and will also ensure that the show remains popular and well-advertised, in the participating Caribbean countries, during the period from 1st March 2016, to 22nd October 2016 and beyond. Q95 U-25 2016 DJ Competition Productions & Promotions;Selection of 1 Winner & 1 Runner-Up from 10 Competitors Q95fm Radio is gearing to commence the production of the 3th Annual Q95 U-25 2016 DJ Competition, from 4th April 2016, with the traditional ‘Live’ On-Air Weekend Auditions / competitions, (Fridays from 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm). Round # 1 Eliminations will take place on-air, on April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2016. The Top eight (8) DJs will go forward to Round # 2, based on scores generated from listeners Live-to-Air Calls, Text Messages and Online voting on the Q95 website. Round # 2 of Eliminations will take place on-air, on May 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2016. The Top 4 DJs will go forward to Round # 3, based on scores generated from listeners Live-To-Air Calls, Text Messages, and Online Voting on the Q95 website. Round # 3 of Eliminations will take place on-air, on June 3 and 10, 2016. The Top 2 DJs will go forward to the Final Round # 4, based scores generated from listeners Live-To-Air Calls, Text Messages, and Online Voting on the Q95 website. Round # 4 of the On-Air DJ Competition will take place on June 17 and 24, 2016. Listeners Live-To-Air Calls, Text Messages, and Online Voting on the Q95 website, will contribute to the selection of the winner and Runner-Up. The Final Round of the Q95 U-25 DJ Competition will take place on Saturday 2nd July 2016, during the QTS 2016 Semi Final Competition, which will take place at the Arawak House of Culture. The Winner and Runner-Up will be decided by scores from the Audience response, added to the scores previously obtained from Q95fm Radio listeners Calls, texts messaging, and Online Voting on the Q95 website, which took place during Round # 4 of the On-Air competition. The Winner of the Q95 U-25 2016 DJ Competition will perform at the QTS 2016 Final Competition, to be held at the Arawak House of Culture, on Saturday 3rd September 2016. KIDDIES Q CHRISTMAS 2016
4th Q95 KIDDIES Q CHRISTMAS 2016 – Sunday 4th December 2016 - from 10am to 4pm, at Peebles Park, Roseau, Dominica Q95fm Radio wishes to give back to Dominica’s needy children every Christmas, by undertaking an annual event entitled Kiddies Q Christmas, by providing Christmas Cheer, Fun, Games, Food, Beverages and Christmas Presents for 400 needy elementary school children in Dominica. The 2016 the event is scheduled to take place at the Peebles Park in Roseau, on Sunday 4th December 2016, from 10 am to 4 pm. Twenty five (25) school principals in Urban and Rural communities throughout Dominica, are asked to identify 16 of the neediest kids in their schools, to participate in the Annual Kiddies Q Christmas. The students from each school will be accompanied by two (2) teachers, and will be treated to a full day of fun & frolic, games & treats, food & beverages, and great Christmas Cheer. The students and teachers selected by each school will be given the opportunity to perform any talent of their choice live, on-stage during the event on Sunday 4th December 2016. A desktop computer will be awarded to the school with the best performance. Students and teachers will also be entertained by Q95’s Under-16 QTS singers, and also by Q95’s Under-25 DJs. Q95fm Radio is seeking your support to cover some of the costs of the undertaking, such as food & beverages, games, entertainment, fun things such as face-painting, sound & lights, electricity, transportation of the kids to and from their communities, as well as a desktop computer to be awarded to the wining school that presented the best performance on stage. Q95 will broadcast the entire event live on local frequencies, from 10 am to 4 pm. The live audio and video streams will also be available on the worldwide web. Q95 will promote the event live-to-air on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:15 am to 10:30 am, commencing from Tuesday 8th November 2016, during the Kiddies Q Christmas Segment of the popular Morning Drive Show, and on Sundays between 12 noon and 2 pm, during the Kids-On-Q Show.
