Dominica defeated St Vincent & the Grenadines to win the Tournament Championship on Wednesday May 30, 2018. After winning the toss, Dominica chose to bat and scored 215 runs all-out in 45 overs, with Athanaze scoring 101 runs, Kavem Hodge 38 and Liam Sebastien 22. The Star bowlers for St Vincent included Obed McCoy with 4 wickets for 17 runs in 4.1 overs & Casmond Walters who took 3 wickets for 25 runs. At their turn at the crease, and fighting for the championship, St Vincent scored 200 all out in 40 overs. Pacer Delorn Johnson top-scored with 37 runs. Donwell Hector contributed 36, Kenneth Dembar 24, and Casmond Walters 22. Hodge and Sebastien captured a combined 6 wickets for 77 runs in 18 overs to help Dominica seal the deal. Earlier this year, Athanaze ended the ICC Under-19 World Cup as the tournament’s top scorer with 418 runs, but the West Indies Team did not make it to the playoffs.
