On the last edition of ‘Kingdom Connection’ program for the year 2019, host Pastor Randy Rodney says some individuals need to ask for the forgiveness of many people, because of what they had done and said during Dominica’s recent political election campaign. Rodney categorized attorney Antony Astaphan as one of those individuals, and asserted that he is praying for him. Pastor Rodney also challenged Astaphan and an unnamed individual to provide substantial evidence to support their claims that he received duty free concessions from the government for a tourism project. This year saw hundreds of new enrolments both in the virtual courses and the physical campus site, and next year is expected to continue this trend. Recalling the beginning of his charitable acts from his SMA high school days, pastor Jack Leatham told listeners of the ‘Kingdom Connection’ program on Q95fm, “Do not let adversity and negativity make you negative. He says Dominicans cannot boast of being the nature island of the Caribbean without working to enhance the island's beauty. Host of Q95’s ‘Kingdom Connection’ program, Pastor Randy Rodney has reprimanded Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit for recent his statements made in reference to religious leaders. Rodney insisted the church and religious members have done more benevolent works than he has done in his life time, even as Prime Minister. Rodney urged Mr. Skerrit to prove that he has ever used his own money to perform benevolent works for Dominicans.The pastor asserted that the Prime Minister is using the people’s money and expects to be praised for what is done with it, whereas church leaders & members don’t even expectrecognition for their good works. Rodney maintains that he will not praise Mr. Skerrit for something he does not deserve,which he was elected to do, and is also being very well paid to do. The Office of Disaster Management has confirmed the occurrence of an earthquake at about 11:10 am Monday morning that was reportedly felt by some members of the public.
According to ODM Director, Fitzroy Pascal, this information was reported by the Seismic Research Centre which is responsible for earthquake monitoring throughout the Caribbean. He said the information indicated that the earthquake was of magnitude 3.9 approximately, 54 kilometers north of Roseau and 10 kilometers deep. “There were no reports of local impact to persons or property by this earthquake,” Pascal stated. He said the Office of Disaster Management continues to work closely with the Seismic Research Centre in Trinidad in order to keep the public informed. The Extasy Band of Petite Savanne, which was founded in 2011 by Lead Guitarist Ordel Michael Hamilton, has reached out to Marella George and family and made a cash contribution of five hundred dollars.According to manager Sherman Antoine, the band members were moved to do so after seeing the living conditions of the family.The band also encourages the general public to reach out and give their support, as this family is urgently in need of help.
