After Successfully excavating over 200 baby sea turtles during the month of May and June, the Nature Enhancement Team (NET) and World Rivers Day Committee Inc. are poised to host world Rivers Day
 
This Year’s International Theme is “Our Watersheds in our communities”.Catholic Priest & Chairman of the World Rivers Day Committee Franklyn Cuffy speaking to Q95fm Radiosaid in this era of Covid19, those responsible for installing and maintaining our water systems will be given special recognition.
 
Fr Cuffy revealed that September 1st to October 4th will be recognized as Rivers Month, by one of the partners of this year’s event.Partners for this year's World Rivers Day areRosalie Bay Resort, 3 Rivers Rosalie Forest Eco Lodge, Discover Dominica Authority, DOWASCO, Forestry, Echo 78, Rotary Club etc.
 
He says though things may be different this year because of Covid19, there are many creative and innovative ways people could actively celebrate this year’s celebration.

​With regard to schooling, specifically to tertiary education, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit insists that promises made to students are being kept. He urged tertiary level students to be responsible and remain aware of their priorities. He was speaking on his “Anous Parlay” program on Sunday.
He thanked the teachers for their commitment to the students who will be going back to school on September 7. He also reminded parents and the community that they too need to play their part in the education of the children.

Parliamentary representative for the Soufriere constituency Ms. Denise Charles is calling for an end to partisan politics within her constituency.
 
Speaking at the commissioning of a newly constructed bridge in point Mitchell, by abundant life fellowship deliverance ministries along with other stakeholders, Ms. Charles says politics is just for election season.
 
“when election is over, the politicians should go to bed. We have to join hands, work together and build each other in the community.” Says MPDenise Charles.
​She says that there are many skilled persons who may be able to contribute greatly towards the development of the constituency, but because of political preference, chose to stay away.

Q95 news has received reliable information concerning a stabbing incident which occurred near a popular business place in Roseau, on August 29, 2020.
 
Police has identified the victim, who is now deceased, as 22-year-old Denzel James. Investigations are ongoing and one person is assisting police.
 
Shortly after being stabbed, James was rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH), however he succumbed to his injuries.

Dominica has confirmed yet another imported case of COVID-19 at the Douglas Charles Airport on Saturday. Following the swift containment of the Covid victim, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit commended the airport health officials for their management and implementation of the health protocols.
Wishing all 3 victims a speedy recovery on his "Anou Parlay'' show, the Prime Minister said there is no need to take any action re closing the borders.

The Dominica Association with persons with disabilities has received an EC $5,000 increase in their government subvention.
 
This increase has been revealed by DAPD Executive Director Nathalie Murphy
 
The subversion of $15,000 has now been increased to $20,000.
Ms. Murphey says the DAPD is very grateful for this increase, especially during these challenging times.

Economist and Leader of the Dominica Freedom Party Kent Vital has announced six major ills, which are negatively affecting Dominica’s government operations and the economy.
 
Vital told Q95 recently, these six proven acts of misconduct, will only destroy the fabric of the country’s morality, if citizens allow corrupt Political Leaders to continue running the affairs of the country.
Vital went on to explain further each proven act of misconduct;
Vital urges Dominicans to enhance their character, in efforts to destroy these characteristics of misconduct within the society, preserve democracy, and rid the government of Dominica of all corrupt leaders present.

Dominicans want answers to two alleged arson incidents at the Roseau Public Library on August 21 and August 29 as police say they are continuing investigations into these mysterious incidents

Dominicans are baffled by the mystery surrounding the cause of two attempts of alleged arson on the Roseau Public Library. It is confirmed that on August 21, 2020, the fire department was notified of a fire at the building in question, the blaze was put out just in time, saving most of the structure of the building, which was recently compromised by the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017, and to date, has not been repaired.
 
On August 29, 2020, sometime after 10pm, fire officials and the police were called to the scene for another fire. Local media have been informed that Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of these mysterious fire incidents.
