Former Marigot MP, Edison James, says there is no doubt in his mind that there is a deliberate position of the DLP Government to punish the people of the Marigot Constituency.
James says the people of that constituency have been sidelined by the current administration for a number of years now simply because of their political preference. He says this is evident in the neglect of Healthcare and infrastructure in that constituency.

Former Prime Minister, Edison James, has challenged Senior Counsel, Anthony Astaphan, to participate in a public debate on the issues in Dominica.
Describing Astaphan as a coward of the highest order, James accused Astaphan of hiding behind the mic at a local radio station. While being vocal on a number of issues, Astaphan has not shared those views in any public forum. Contestants are judged on swim wear, talent, evening wear and interview. Dominican born Priest, Father Elton Letang, has been appointed Parish Priest at St Theresa's Parish Malik Barataria in Trinidad.
This is the first of major assignments for Letang who was ordained a priest 3 years ago. According to a letter from Most Reverend Joseph E. Harris Arch Bishop of Port of Spain, the assignment took effect June 1 2016. About a year ago Letang was named superior of the community of the Redemptorists, the order of priests he belongs to in Trinidad. From the community he was ordained a priest on June 3 2013. A one day Consultation to discuss another OECS Draft Family Model Bill will take place on Tuesday July 5th, 2016 at the Public Service Union Conference Room from 9: 00am.
According to a release, consultation has already been held where discussion took place on the Child Justice Bill, Children (Care and Adoption) Bill, Status of Children Bill and Domestic Violence Bill. This time stakeholders will come together to review the Draft Maintenance Bill. This OECS harmonized Bill relates to the Maintenance of children and procedures which the Court could adopt when making Maintenance Orders. The present Maintenance Act provides for the Maintenance of certain classes of persons including children and adults. The present Bill is specific to children and proposes that each parent has an obligation to provide reasonably for the maintenance of children. A local Drafter will make presentations on both the present Maintenance Act and the proposed Bill and suggestions will be received for possible changes to the Draft. The Consultation is a coming together of policy makers, parents, Magistrates, Social workers, Police Officers among other invitees. Consultation on the OECS Draft Family Model Bills is part of the process leading to the enactment of the Family Bills.
