Former Dominica Ambassador to the UN, Crispin Gregoire, says he will be pushing for an amendment to the laws, which allows CBI citizens to vote and participate in the country’s Elections. Gregoire says for obvious reasons of ensuring that Dominicans are not overrun and oppressed by wealthy foreign nationals – who have bought Dominican citizenship, this needs to occur within the first 100 days of new elected government. DPSU President Steve Joseph expresses sympathy towards the families who lost loved ones to vehicular accidents in 2020. He continues to advocate for the authorities to enforce more stringent measures regarding safe driving and traffic.He contends that too many young lives have been lost due to vehicular accidents specifically motorcycle accidents. Joseph also highlighted some of the challenges and accomplishments the union faced through 2020. He says “the union did not sleep” in 2020. Executive Director of the National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD) Ltd Cletus Joseph says this year has been a challenging one for the company. He says though the company has had its fair share of challenges, this year was somewhat different. Joseph stated that the organization expected there may have been another storm, or hurricane, but never did it imagine COVID-19. Meanwhile, Joseph says the company has been launching some green products based on adaptation and mitigation technologies to stimulate economic activities.
