Meantime Q95 news has confirmed that Captain of the Dominica cricket team & former Windward Islands Volcanoes Captain, Tyrone Theophile, who was an ICU patient at the Princess Margaret Hospital, as a result of a terrible motorcycle accident on Christmas Day, was airlifted successfully on December 28, 2020, by a Martinique air ambulance to receive urgent medical attention in Martinique.
Health Minister Dr Irvin McIntyre was present at the Canefield airport along with family members and friends of Theophile. Parliamentary representative for the area Denise Charles who is also a family member of Theophile was also present “He is a focused young man, he is my cousin, and this is personal to me. I am praying hard and it is my hope and prayer that he returns to us,” Charles said. Dr. McIntyre described his conditions as “critical “and is hoping for the best. Meantime, West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) President and CEO Wavell Hinds has sent best wishes to Theophile. “Our prayers are with you and your family at this time. We wish you a speedy and full recovery,” WIPA President and CEO Wavell Hinds said
