Sports Commentator, Ossie Lewis, has described the Nature Boys performance at the Dominica vs Martinique match Tuesday as "disappointing".
Speaking on Q95's Hotseat Wednesday, Lewis says it was a disappointing outcome for the many fans who turned out to support the home team coming from a resounding victory in the BVI on the weekend. Martinique beat Dominica 4-1 in the Scotiabank 2016 Men's Caribbean Cup Tuesday at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

Traffic officers will be better equipped to perform random checks on vehicles thanks to a new system to be introduced this week.
The ICT Unit in collaboration with the Ministry of National Security, will formally launch the Drivers and Automobile Information System (DAIS) and the Financial Intelligence Unit Suspicion Transaction Report (STRs) application or “Dominica-FSU e-Filing System (DEFS) on Thursday, March 31, 2016. According to a release, the implementation of this Information system will allow traffic officers to not only conduct random vehicle checks but also query mass license plates of vehicles at any time. This they expect will discourage drivers from driving unlicensed vehicles, uninsured vehicles or with expired drivers’ license. The release states further that the online application eliminates the need for paper filing as well as provides a greater level of security and privacy for an individual filing an STR. The STR application is expected to allow authorized users to submit reports on a person or company engaged in suspicious activity or activities. Additional information linked to the person or company such as addresses, accounts, identification and telephone information can also be submitted as part of the STR. DLP PRO says UWP aims to reduce the IPO from a national institution into a partisan institution3/30/2016 DLP PRO, Dr. Philbert Aaron, says by not submitting a nominee for the IPO, the UWP is attempting to reduce the IPO from an institution of the state to a partisan commission.
He says their aim is to lower the integrity of the IPO from a national institution governed by law so that it may be portrayed in a different light. Investigations are ongoing into the seizure of 15,890g and 43,130g of alleged cannabis weed valued at $35,000 and $95,000 respectively.
The seizure was made at Pointe Michel on March 27th 2016. Mitchell James Jones Jr, 25 and Glennit Ruhan Charles, 33 were arrested on March 26th 2016 at Macoucherie . Jno Baptiste gives more details. President of the Dominica association of Teachers (DAT) Celia Nicholas has shown true leadership in her tenure as president, “that is the statement made by some teachers, who chose to remain anonymous at this time.
This statement comes as the DAT holds its 13th Biennial Conference today. While Nicholas has said that she was not sure if she will leave or remain as president of the association, as the outcome depended on the results of the election, records indicate that she has served in that post since the year 2000. DFP General Secretary, Johnson Boston, says the party wants to see these drafted amendments brought before parliament immediately. He says the Government must approach this issue with prudence & urgency as this is a matter which needs to be stopped in its tracks. Head of the Traffic Department, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mathew Cuffy, says the police will maintain a steady police presence within the city of Roseau.
This he says is in an effort to maintain order within the parameters of the City. Hans ‘Rasta Man’ Oliver a Dominican man from Portsmouth shot and killed in St Thomas on Sunday3/30/2016 A Dominican has been killed in St Thomas.
According to reports, on Sunday March 27, Hans ‘Rasta Man’ Oliver was shot, and later succumbed to his injuries at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Centre. Oliver is from the town of Portsmouth in Dominica. He was shot multiple times in an area called Brookman Road at about 1:45am on that day. Police in St Thomas are searching for a suspect named Omalie Charles, a French national of Baymaho in Guadeloupe.
