Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has called for the Green Climate Fund (GCF), which was created specifically to assist developing countries in adapting and improving best practices to combat the effects of climate change, to be made more accessible to small island developing states, because the procedures for the funds are too complex and unyielding for small island developing states like Dominica. Mr Skerrit stated that in order to reach the aim of letting Dominica's agriculture sector contribute $700 million dollars to the country's GDP by 2023, the growth of Ago-businesses must be encouraged. The government of Dominica claims it is making substantial investments in the sports industry, in an effort to satisfy international standards and increase sports tourism. Minister of state in the ministry of culture, youth sports, and community development, Oscar George, stated that sports tourism is the next area of investment for Dominica. He emphasized that it needs to be done in order to draw tourists to the island to take advantage of our attractions and watch athletes compete. He thinks that moving forward, Dominicans need to take this into account. He says, with the construction of a track and field complex in Pointe Round, Portsmouth, the government is focusing on the growth of track and field. Cricket and most lately netball are two sports in which the government has made significant investments. A 400-meter track and other amenities will be included in the facility, according to George, who was speaking on a local government show. He also noted that much work needs to be done before construction can start. Minister of state in the Ministry of Culture Youth Sports and Community Development, Oscar George.
Former Dominican prime minister Edison James points out that the election commission endeavored to cleanse the voter list in 2018 but it was unsuccessful due to DLP government interference. James pointed out that this exercise would have made a major contribution to the cleansing the voter list. He noted that they later sought the advice of renowned jurist Sir Denis Byron. However, they altered the terms of reference so that he could expand his consultancy. James added that Sir Byron engaged inconsultations and received reports from civic organizations. However, he concurred with the general sentiments that Dr. Irving Andre expressed when he said that Sir Byron had allowed himself to be too easily persuaded to give in to and embrace Dominica Labor Party demands regarding residency requirements. A child's happiness shines through in his or her smile and laughter. Consider the impact on your child's self-esteem if those smiles fade or disappear due to gross neglect of their oral health.
Hence, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, parents should give early attention to a child's oral health, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of healthy teeth. Teaching proper oral health care will instill in them a routine that will last well into adulthood. Hence, it is prudent that parents take an active role in promoting good oral habits in their children. According to the World Health Organization, dental caries is the most common and easily preventable oral disease in children, affecting over 500 million children globally, including infants suffering from early childhood caries. This condition can lead to debilitating consequences, such as pain, abscesses, loss of appetite, and infections. Tooth decay occurs when plaque forms as a result of food breakdown by bacteria in the mouth, which produces acid from sugars and starches. If left untreated, decay can progress to pulp infection, posing a challenge to the development of permanent teeth. Good oral health is important for overall health and provides benefits such as increased self-confidence and a higher quality of life. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said yesterday at the state house during the opening ceremony of the United Nations Barbados and Eastern Caribbean Office Development Partners Coordination Meeting, that the government understands and values current partnerships as well as the need to create effective policies to broaden the nation's economic base. His remarks were consistent with the meeting's goal, which was to enhance the tripartite partnership between the UN, development partners, and the government in order to decrease implementation bottlenecks and improve the delivery of development aid to Dominica. Skerrit went on to say that if it had not been for natural disasters and external shocks, the country's debt-to-GDP ratio would be less than 40%. Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit.

A five-day Regional Training Workshop on Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) Methodology will be held in Barbados from March 27 to 31, 2023, benefiting seven (7) CDEMA Participating Member States. This workshop will increase resilience among participating states by maximizing and accelerating effective response and recovery. This initiative is being executed by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, the European Union through the PARTICIP Project, and by the Enabling Gender-Responsive Disaster Recovery, Climate and Environmental Resilience in the Caribbean (EnGenDER) Project, which is funded by Global Affairs Canada and Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office from the Government of the United Kingdom. The initiative aims to develop professionals with the capacity to support the assessment of damage & loss as well as sectoral recovery needs in the wake of a disaster. Climate change increased the frequency and intensity of natural disasters, making vulnerable groups like low-income communities & coastal populations, more susceptible to their impacts. For instance, in the Caribbean and the Participating States, rising sea levels and stronger hurricanes threaten the livelihoods and safety of island nations that heavily rely on tourism and fishing industries. Since 2020, the EnGenDER project has been implementing initiatives in nine Caribbean countries to integrate gender equality and human-rights based approaches to strengthen disaster risk management and build resilience for the effects of climate change. Dominican immigration attorney Tamika Jude, emphasizes the importance of consulting a lawyer before attempting to submit your own paperwork. If you have a criminal record or have ever overstayed a visa, this is particularly true. She underlined that the only area of law for which people attempt to retain attorneys is in criminal law, so she suggests that the issue as to when is it safe to file on your own does not exist. Jude stresses the significance of speaking with a lawyer who can assess your situation and advise you on your next steps. She continues to examine that citizenship is available online, but many people do not understand the law in terms of physical presence. Dominicans especially have had this issue, as they believe in showing up to the US once a year and after five years they can apply for citizenship. Going back and forth and filing for citizenship without an attorney can result in either being issued a notice of intent to deny or having their green card revoked. Jude highlights that it is important to do a consultation with an attorney to be clear on eligibility and know whether or not you even qualify for consideration. Tamika Jude, immigration attorney.
Edison James, a former prime minister of Dominica firmly believes that the Dominica Labour Party has no desire to implement significant electoral change. He claims that this is evident in the way they responded to the infamous email sent by Attorney Anthony Astaphan to the prime minister after the electoral commission assumed responsibility for undertaking elections reforms within its constitutional mandate. He contends that there are three people, including the prime minister, who have effectively controlled this nation. One of them controls our finances, and he reiterates his firm belief that the Labour Party Administration is not interested in real electoral reform. He noted that they have had many chances to demonstrate otherwise. Edison James, a former prime minister of Dominica.
