“You the citizens out there, you have rights. We have rights” says Loftus Durand who is President of Concerned Citizens Movement of Dominica, and Host of Patriots Voices on Q. Durand was speaking on Elements of a democracy and what makes a good democracy as it relates to the people.The CCM President was reading off an excerpt from a Stanford University document, which information is guaranteed under international law. This Document states some of the freedoms every citizen of a country is entitled to, as it relates to democratic freedom of expression. This excerpt is the third part of a series which shares information on what it takes to live in a democracy, among other elements and orientations. Durand added that Dominica is classified as a democratic country, so these international standards also apply to the people of Dominica.
