DASPA reports over 12,000 persons have exited Dominica via the Ferry Terminal since September 1912/15/2017 DASPA CEO Benoit Bardouille has reported that over 12,000 persons have exited Dominica via the ferry terminal, since September 19, 2017.
He further noted that just under 10,000 persons entered the country via the ferry during that same period. Bardouille added that the ferry has been operating smoothly since the passage of hurricane Maria, and enabled frequent trips to and from Dominica. He explained, “The Roseau Ferry Terminal has been operating without much difficulty, and the work on the restoration facility has begun. We are repairing the facility completely. From September 19, to November 30th, we received fifty-eight ferry calls, and 9,931 passengers arrived on those vessels entering Dominica. We also had 12, 648 persons utilizing the ferry services to exit Dominica”. He went on to say that “At the Douglas Charles Airport from September 19, to 12th December, we received 773 flights. Some 6,069 passengers landed from those flights during that period, and some 8,867 passengers departed through that Airport during that same period. It is important to note that all services at the Douglas Charles Airport are functional, except for direct power form DOMLEC”.
